Getting Started

Sexync is a private video session platform for adult content creators. Each session is a private 1-on-1 room combining live video, voice, real-time chat, and direct control of a connected device. There are no public streams or browsable listings — rooms are accessible only via private links.

Sexync is built primarily for adult content creators and their fans. Creators (called performers) host private sessions and connect their hardware. Fans join via a private link shared by the creator.

During alpha, yes — entirely free for creators. There are no platform fees. You negotiate and collect payment through your existing channels (OnlyFans, direct transfer, etc.). Post-alpha, Sexync will introduce a platform fee on earnings processed through the platform. The exact terms will be announced before we exit alpha.

Sessions

The creator and fan agree on session terms externally and the fan pays via the creator's preferred channel. The creator then opens their dashboard, creates a room, and sends the private link. Both parties connect hardware and camera in the lobby before entering the room together.

You need the private link from the creator. Open it in your browser, complete the lobby setup (connect camera and/or hardware if applicable), and enter the room.

No. Sexync has no public directory, no stream listings, and no search. Every room is accessible only via the specific private link the creator shares.

Both parties can reconnect at any time using the same room link. The session continues where it left off.

Hardware

Work through this checklist in order. Most connection failures are caused by one of the first three.

  1. Use a data-capable USB cable. Many cables are charge-only and will not expose a serial port to your computer. Swap it for a known-good data cable if you are unsure.
  2. Use Google Chrome or a Chromium-based browser. Firefox and Safari do not support the Web Serial API that Sexync uses to talk to connected hardware.
  3. Install the SexCode firmware. The OSSM ships with factory firmware that Sexync cannot communicate with. Open sexync.gitlab.io/ossm-sexcode in Chrome and follow the on-screen steps — flashing takes about two minutes.
  4. Replug the USB cable after flashing. Chrome needs to re-enumerate the device before it appears in the port picker.
  5. Install the CP210x USB-to-UART driver (Windows and macOS only — Linux includes it by default). Download from silabs.com/developers/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers, install it, then replug the cable.
  6. Click CONNECT in the OSSM Control Panel (bottom-left corner of the dashboard). A browser dialog will appear — select the CP210x device from the list.
  7. Try a different USB port or plug directly into your machine. Some USB hubs and front-panel ports do not supply reliable power.

Two paths. First, over 500 Buttplug.io-compatible toys — vibrators, strokers, and oscillators from brands like Lovense, We-Vibe, The Handy, and OhMiBod — connected through the free Intiface Central app, with real-time intensity control in any browser. Second, the OSSM (Open Source Sex Machine) running SexCode firmware, connected via USB-serial — the recommended device, with full real-time positional control. Assembled OSSM units are available from Research & Desire at researchanddesire.com.

Install the free Intiface Central app from intiface.com/central and start its server. Pair your toy in Intiface Central (usually via Bluetooth), then open the toy panel in the Sexync dashboard, switch to the Buttplug tab, and press CONNECT. Sexync connects to Intiface Central on your machine over a local WebSocket — this works in any browser, no firmware or drivers needed.

SexCode is an open-source device control protocol published by Sexync under the CC0 public domain dedication — meaning anyone can implement it without restriction. It defines the wire format for real-time position and velocity commands sent over a serial connection. Sexync also publishes ossm-sexcode, the SexCode firmware for the OSSM, with a browser-based flasher at sexync.gitlab.io/ossm-sexcode. Any toy manufacturer can implement SexCode to make their device work with Sexync.

Power on your OSSM and connect it via USB. Open Chrome and visit the SexCode OSSM web flasher at sexync.gitlab.io/ossm-sexcode. Follow the on-screen steps to flash SexCode-compatible firmware — it takes a few minutes. Once flashed, replug the cable, then open the OSSM Control Panel in the Sexync dashboard (bottom left) and press CONNECT.

Only for the OSSM. The Web Serial API, which Sexync uses to flash firmware and communicate with the OSSM over USB, is currently only supported in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers — Firefox and Safari do not support it. Buttplug.io toys connect through Intiface Central instead and work in any browser.

Verification

During alpha, age verification at room entry is not automated for guests — the performer who invites you is responsible for confirming you are 18 or older before sharing the room link. You only need to complete verification yourself if you turn on your own camera or connect your own device, which requires full identity verification (government-issued ID via Didit) — the same check performers complete to host. Automated guest age verification will be reinstated when Sexync exits alpha.

Sexync uses Didit as its identity verification provider. Didit processes and stores your biometric and document data according to their own privacy policy. Sexync does not receive or store copies of your identity documents.

Didit is a third-party identity verification service. They handle the selfie-based age check and government ID verification on behalf of Sexync. You interact with Didit's interface during the verification flow.

Performers

Work through the checklist in your profile at /profile: register, verify your email, connect a toy (any Buttplug.io-compatible toy via Intiface Central, or an OSSM with SexCode firmware), and complete ID verification via Didit. There is no application and no manual approval — once all four steps are green, you can host rooms immediately.

During alpha, Sexync does not process payments. You collect payment from your fans directly through your preferred platform (OnlyFans, direct transfer, etc.) before the session. Post-alpha, Sexync will offer integrated payments.

Technical

Under good network conditions and hardware, Sexync delivers sub-100ms end-to-end latency from fan input to effect visible on screen. This is the core technical differentiator — it makes control feel immediate rather than remote.

For the lowest visual latency, use a USB-3 webcam. Minimize exposure time and optimize your lighting. Avoid long exposure settings, which add perceptible lag to the video feed.

For an OSSM, see the step-by-step troubleshooting checklist in the Hardware section above — it covers cables, drivers, firmware, and browser requirements in order of likelihood. For a Buttplug.io toy, make sure Intiface Central is running and the toy is paired there before pressing CONNECT in Sexync. If you have worked through the steps and the device still does not connect, email [email protected] with your operating system and browser version.
