1. Introduction

Sexync ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform at sexync.com — a private session platform for adult content creators and their audiences. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

This policy applies to all users of sexync.com, including visitors, registered members, and performers. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Data controller. The platform is operated by Bytenade Oy, Helsinki (Finland), which is the data controller responsible for your personal information under this policy. If you have questions, or wish to exercise your data-protection rights, you can reach us at any time at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and a cryptographic hash of your password. Passwords are never stored in plaintext.

Profile Data

Optional profile information such as a display name and profile settings you choose to configure.

Verification Data

Age and identity verification is carried out by our third-party provider, Didit (didit.me). When you complete verification, you interact directly with Didit's interface. Sexync receives only a verification status result (verified / not verified). We do not store your biometric data, selfie images, or identity documents on our servers.

Session Metadata

We collect room creation timestamps, session duration, and connection logs for debugging, security, and abuse-prevention purposes. We do not record, capture, or store the live video or audio of any session.

Chat Messages

Text chat messages exchanged within a room are transmitted through, and stored on, our servers. We retain chat content so that messages are delivered reliably and the conversation history of a room is not lost, and to support safety and moderation, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations. Chat messages are never used for advertising and are accessed only where necessary for these purposes. Please do not share information in chat that you would not want retained.

Device Interaction Data

Real-time device control commands are sent directly between participants and are relayed in transit by our third-party real-time infrastructure provider's media servers. They are processed transiently only to operate connected hardware during a session. Sexync does not monitor, inspect, log, or store these commands.

Technical Data

We automatically collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, and basic usage logs. This data is used to operate, maintain, and secure the platform.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used, subject to your consent where required. See Section 10 for more detail.

Payment Data (Post-Alpha)

The platform does not process payments during the alpha phase. When payment functionality becomes available, we (or our payment providers) will process the transaction and payout information necessary to facilitate withdrawals and earnings and to comply with applicable financial, tax, and anti-fraud obligations. Where payments are handled by a third-party processor, your payment details are also subject to that processor's privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Sexync platform
  • Verify your age and identity eligibility for access to sessions and device use
  • Maintain the security of your account and the platform
  • Troubleshoot issues and debug technical problems
  • Communicate with you about your account, platform updates, or policy changes
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud and abuse

We do not use your personal data for advertising profiling or sell it to third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your data: performance of a contract (to provide the platform and the sessions you request); legal obligation (age and identity verification, record-keeping, tax, and responding to lawful requests); legitimate interests (securing the platform, preventing fraud and abuse, moderating content, and preserving room chat history), balanced against your rights and freedoms; and consent (non-essential analytics cookies and, where required, the age and identity verification carried out by Didit, which may involve biometric processing). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

4. Identity Verification and Didit

Sexync uses Didit (didit.me) as its third-party identity verification provider. Didit is responsible for the verification process and operates its own data handling infrastructure independent of Sexync.

  • When you complete age or identity verification, you interact directly with Didit's interface and are subject to Didit's own privacy policy, available at didit.me.
  • For age estimation, Didit processes a selfie image to estimate your age. For full identity verification, Didit processes your government-issued identity document.
  • Didit retains biometric and identity document data in accordance with their own privacy policy and applicable law.
  • Sexync receives only a binary verification status result. We do not have access to, and do not store, any biometric data or identity documents submitted to Didit.
  • Age and identity verification may involve the processing of biometric and government-identity data, which are special categories of data. This processing is performed by Didit on the basis of your explicit consent and to meet our legal obligation to restrict the platform to adults.
  • Through our administrative access to the Didit platform, we can confirm that a verification took place and obtain the records necessary to satisfy applicable age-verification and record-keeping obligations (including, where applicable, 18 U.S.C. § 2257), without ourselves storing your documents or biometric data.

5. Session Privacy

Your privacy within sessions is important to us. The following applies to all Sexync sessions:

  • No video or audio recording: Sexync does not record, capture, or store the live video or audio of any session. Live video, audio, and device commands are relayed through a third-party media server (an SFU) that processes them transiently in transit and does not store them on our behalf.
  • Chat is stored: Unlike video and audio, text chat within a room is stored on our servers so that conversation history is preserved and to support safety, moderation, and dispute resolution. See "Chat Messages" in Section 2.
  • No public access: Session rooms are accessible only via private links. Sexync operates no public directories, browsable content, or discoverable performer listings.
  • No command logging: Real-time device control commands are processed in-flight and are not persisted to any storage system by Sexync.

While Sexync does not record sessions, you are responsible for your own conduct within a session. Unauthorized recording of another participant without their consent is prohibited under our Terms of Use and may be unlawful.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Didit: We share your request to verify with Didit solely for identity and age verification purposes, as described in Section 4.
  • Service providers: We may share data with third-party service providers who help us operate the platform (for example, hosting infrastructure or analytics services). These providers are bound by data processing agreements and are permitted to use your data only to provide services to us.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose data if required to do so by law, valid legal process (such as a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sexync, our users, or the public.
  • Safety and illegal content: Where we detect or are notified of content or conduct that is illegal — in particular any material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor — we may report it, together with associated account and technical data, to law enforcement and to relevant authorities or hotlines (such as NCMEC), as required or permitted by law.

International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process your data in countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision — to ensure your data remains protected. 7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter as necessary for our legitimate business operations.

  • Account deletion: When you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required or permitted by applicable law (for example, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or meet legal obligations).
  • Verification status: We retain your verification status record for as long as required to demonstrate compliance with age-verification and record-keeping obligations (including, where applicable, 18 U.S.C. § 2257), which may extend beyond the closure of your account.
  • Chat messages: Room chat history is retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards for safety, moderation, dispute-resolution, and legal-compliance purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
  • Technical logs: Connection logs and session metadata are retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention, after which they are deleted.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed password storage, and access controls limiting who can access your data.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take the protection of your data seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

EU / EEA Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to applicable legal requirements.

10. Cookies

We use cookies in the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary: Authentication tokens and session state cookies required for the platform to function. These cannot be disabled and do not require consent.
  • Analytics: We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the platform — for example, which pages are visited most frequently. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting analytics cookies. You may decline analytics cookies without affecting platform functionality.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or engage in cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.

11. Children

Sexync is strictly for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Identity verification (government-issued ID via Didit) is required to host rooms, stream video, or connect a device; during the alpha phase, performers are responsible for confirming that any guest they invite is 18 or older before granting access.

If we discover or are notified that a minor has accessed the platform or provided us with personal data, we will immediately terminate the associated account and delete the data. If you believe a minor has registered on the platform, please contact us at [email protected].

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) or by posting a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
